Save The Whales & Tea.....

You're probably wondering how these two subjects even remotely go together. Well, I was sipping some of that awesome "100 Monkeys" tea that I recently got from "BloominTea". The teas are wonderful & so very reasonably priced. You really should check them out for yourself ~ *Yum* ~ you won't be sorry, I promise. So, while I'm sipping this wonderful tea, I start thinking about the last time we were up in Boston visiting Wayne's family {that's where he's from ~ damn Yankee}. You know, The Boston Tea Party, etc., etc., and then I start thinking about going Whale Watching and how much fun we had ~ it was really awesome. I actually adopted a Humpback named "Colt". If you ever want to go see him, you can visit "Stellwagen Bank" in Gloucester, MA. "The Whale Center of New England" will take you out there. Most of the guides have been studying these Whales for years and are very knowledgeable about them. I didn't get a picture of Colt's "fluke" {tail} because he don't show it that often. I did, however, get a picture of one of his friend's named "Coral":
We had a wonderful time. Wayne's Mom & Brother came with us. Hopefully, we will be going back next Spring, after we get moved to North Carolina & all settled in.

Now I need to run and get a few things made, including another one of these awesome necklaces. You know where to find them, if you decide you need one for yourself:

I hope you are having a wonderful week so far. Please do leave me comments now & then. I love to hear from all of my friends. Thanks for reading my ramblings.

Friends....

I just wanted to post a quick hello and a "Thank You" to all of my friends, old & new. I called my dear friend, Christine today. We've been friends since High School. She lives out in Los Angeles, but we can pick up the phone and just about start where we left off last. I love that girl! And, even more awesome than talking to her on the phone, she will be coming to visit me in North Carolina next Spring!!!! I can't wait.

And then I have my new friends that I've met on "Flickr" and "Etsy" that I just dearly love already and I've never even met them face to face. So, my little picture for today pretty much sums up the whole thing!

So now I'm off to return e-mails & convos and get some little pendants made that are off to new homes tomorrow. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend & I'll be back Tuesday with a review on some awesome teas I just got from "BloominTea". I'm going to fix me a cup right now ~ yum~

Dogs, Mamas & Mozilla Firefox!!!

So I used to be one to keep up with all the trends, as far as technology goes. I mean, I love all that "geekie stuff". I have 3 computers, 2 digital cameras, an iPod, a PDA, a camera phone, a server, 2 external hard-drives, 5 printers, etc., etc. Of course, it's all outdated already! I mean, I can't keep up anymore and about 3 years ago I stopped trying. When they came out with the "Blackberry's", I decided that sometimes I need a little quite and I'm not important enough to have to stay that "connected. And now with the new iPhones and those silly looking "blue tooth" things, I've just about thrown in the towel all together. I told Wayne that if he ever saw me with one of those silly things attached to my ear that I would hope he would grab it and throw it as far as he could. I mean, when I see people with those I just want to ask them if they realize how silly they look. They look like "Quark" from Star Trek, just sillier. Maybe it's just me. Anyway, I've been hearing a lot of "buzz" from different places about "Firefox" and how great it is, etc. So after a whole day of getting prompted for a dial-up connection, freezing up and getting "Not Responding" from Explorer, I decided what the heck, it can't be any worse than this crap. So I downloaded it and can I tell you, believe what you've heard. It is way faster than Explorer, no freezing up, no dial-up prompts, no "Not Responding", etc. Plus the toolbar is so easy to use and don't have all of that garbage mumbo jumbo that Explorer had. I love it! Now I have it on all 3 computers and I feel "connected" with the geekie world again {a little}.

Everything checked out fine for Lita @ the Vet, except she can't stand when they try to mess with her butt. I took a stool sample with us just so they wouldn't have to look back there and promised her that they would not touch her butt. Unfortunately, they still had to take her temperature. Poor little thing, you should have seen her. She had that butt pressed down on the floor so hard that both of her back feet were stuck up in the air! I had to literally lift her off the floor, feet sticking out and all, so they could take it. So then I had to promise her a new toy from the Pet Supply store when we went to get her heartworm prescription filled. She didn't even want a new toy. She walked up and down the aisle and just wanted to get out of the store and go home. She just about yanked me to the ground trying to get in the car to leave. I got her a new little toy anyway, of which Ozzy promptly ripped a hole in to get the squeaker out, which i think he thinks is "his job". I mean every toy they get is distroyed within minutes if there is a squeaker in there. I wish they made dog toys without them. So just as I'm thinking this, I get a convo from "Larksmoon" on Etsy wanting to know if I would trade something in her shop for one of my "Head Bangers Ball Bracelets". At first I thought, well here we go, somebody wanting to trade but don't really have anything I want {which is usually the case}. So I take a look and see that she makes these cute little "imps" that are just adorable:

And I think! Perfect dog toy!!! She's making them for me without faces, since I wouldn't want to see her hard work all slobbered on an ripped up. I'll let you know how they work out. I can't wait for the "taste test".

Well I spent most of the day with my Mom. I had to bring some "Shrunken Ex-Boyfriend Bracelets" over to "Nature's Treasures", even after they swore no customers of theirs would ever buy anything that horrible. Well, this is the 2nd batch. I guess they just don't realize how many boyfriends, or girlfriends {since I sold one last week to a fellow that calls it his "Shrunken Ex-Girlfriend}, are worthy of being shrunken! Anyway, we had a great day, grabbed some yummie lunch, visited with friends & enjoyed each others company. So now I need to get going and decide what's for dinner. Hope you are having a great week! I'll be back soon..

Music & Creativeness....

Hey everybody!!! Hope you are all doing good and trying to stay cool {at least if you live in Louisiana that's what you're trying to do}. It was actually a somewhat decent day yesterday, except for the air quality, which was in the unhealthy ranges for people with ashma {which is me}. So, I could go outside and take in the semi-coolness of 87 degrees, but I had to bring my inhaler. "Potaytoe, Potahtoe" ~ so I just stayed in most of the day and made jewelry and downloaded some new {old} music. Of course my little "brain" record player sometimes tends to drown out any real music I'm trying to listen to. Like now, for instance, I'm listening to "Clocks" by "Coldplay", but my little record playing in my head is "Daniel" by "Elton John" and I haven't even heard or thought about that song in years! Where does this music in my head come from? Sometimes it drives me nuts. It does help with my creativeness though. Just look what I cranked out yesterday with this awesome little dog tag pendant I got from my sweet little friend Susan over at "TV Tray Art" ~ please do check out her things when you get a minute. She has some really awesome stuff. The necklace is made with some of my gorgeous Green Garnet {of which I've been hoarding since it's just so beautiful}, the only thing that could ever completely compliment this beautiful little pendant. Of course, the song that was playing in my head at the time of creation was "Crimson & Clover", thus the name of this gorgeous piece:

Well, I'm off to make a few necklaces and then to take Lita to the vet for her annual checkup. Ozzy don't mind when we take Lita somewhere without him, but we can't take Ozzy anywhere without Lita. She has separation anxiety really bad and she cries & cries and runs all over the house from room to room whimpering if we all leave. So, next month when it's Ozzy's turn to go to the vet, Lita will have to come along for the ride. She's my little sweetheart, though and I just love her to pieces.

Happy Tuesday!

Exotic Dance Video & My Jewelery

Hey everybody! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. I just had to share my little friend "Lady Morrighan" and her new DVD with you. This woman is amazing, can I tell you! If you've ever wanted to learn how to pole dance, she's one to learn from. You can purchase the DVD, along with another one she has out, by clicking on the picture. It will bring you to "Amazon.com", where they are both available for sale. Not only can you learn how to dance "exotically", you can see all my jewelry throughout the DVD. Even some of my little "Shrunken Ex-Boyfriends" were along for the take.

So sit back & enjoy this little video that she made in her living room {it's not from the DVD} & wish you could even climb a pole!

Hope you have a wonderful day!!! xxoo ♥ & peace ~ Kathy

What A Ride ~ Thank You!!!

Hello, Hello ~ I'm here. I've just been crazy busy the past few days ~ Thanks to all of you!!! Just in case you happened to miss it, one of my necklaces {the very 1st one in the photo} was on the front page of Etsy for almost a whole day, which sparked lots of activity for me:
So, if you purchased anything from the shop, it's either on the way, or in the process of being made and will go out tomorrow. I just wanted to post a quick "thank you" and I'm off to clean the house because we have the appraiser coming tomorrow {yippie}. One step closer to moving to North Carolina. I'll post more later. Have a wonderful day!

Rain, Love & Memories.....

I'm tired of the rain, but I hate to complain, since so many people are having problems with fires right now. I'll take the rain any day. It may as well be raining anyway ~ another whole weekend of painting, scrubbing, cleaning, wiping & throwing away. But, I can see my "ship" now and that makes it all worth it.

Broc came over do do laundry and type up his resume'. He is tired of waiting tables and thinks he wants a regular "9 to 5" with nights & weekends off. I'm sure he can find something. He's a pretty bright kid. I gave him my Daddy's pinkie ring. Actually, my Daddy had wanted him to have it when he passed away 7 years ago and Broc did not want to take it then. He wanted me to hold on to it until he thought he was responsible enough to have it and not lose it. I almost starting crying when he put it on. It fits him perfectly ~ almost like it was made for him. I realized then how much his hands were just like my Daddy's:
He swore never to take it off, just like my Daddy had worn it for 40 years. Yes, 40 years! My Mother gave it to him for their very first wedding anniversary. It's actually made of pewter and had a star sapphire in the center. Unfortunately, after constant wear and tear, Daddy somehow cracked the star sapphire and replaced it with a plain sapphire. He also had to have it welded together 4 times, since he always wore it thin. I decided that if Broc takes care of it {like I know he will} that I will take it and get a star sapphire put in it for his 30th birthday {which is only 3 year away ~ Gosh I feel old saying that}

Well my little peeps ~ I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday & looking forward to a great week ahead. I know I am. I did make a few new things for the shop, so please do check them out when you get a chance. I'll be posting pictures of my newly finished bathroom tomorrow, so let me know what you think about it.

And, if you haven't done it yet, Please make me "your friend" on MySpace. I'm off to fix dinner and get ready to watch that silly, silly show "John from Cincinnati" {it really is silly, but I like it}. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Have a wonderful evening ~ ♥ and peace ~ Kathy

A Vicious Cycle ~ Clorox=Chocolate=Beer!

I know this sounds weird, but every time I clean with Clorox, or anything with Clorox in it, I have to drink Chocolate Milk to get the smell out of my nose. And then, every time I drink Chocolate Milk, I want a beer. Does that make sense? So that's the way I look at cleaning. My rewards are Chocolate Milk & Beer.

The house is starting to all come together and we are getting closer to having it ready to sell. The hall bathroom is all done now and painted a pretty pinkish Terra cotta. Wayne is an awesome painter. He can paint a straight line with no tape! I'd have that paint all over the ceiling. I bought a pretty new shower curtain and rug for the bathroom and it looks awesome.
Wayne was home sick today. He has a miserable cold that jumped on him and won't let go. I think it's trying to jump on me, but maybe I inhaled enough Clorox today to kill all the little germies. If not, I'll just drown their asses in beer tonight & Tylenol Nighttime cold stuff. That stuff works great!

Well I did manage to crank out a new necklace and a pair of earrings for the shop:

Well my little friends, it's time to go get dinner started so I can feed Wayne's cold {or is it starve a cold} ~ I can never remember. So I'll leave you with another "Wise & Witty Prescription for Living from Dr. Seuss" ~ I hope you had wonderful day! ♥ and peace ~ Kathy

New Stuff & Life Lessons.....

Hey Everybody! Hope you all had a great weekend {I know, it's Tuesday}. I've been on a roll making new stuff for the shop and just had to share these awesome bracelets:

And this cute little necklace:
I just love how they turned out ~ especially those bracelets. I dreamed about them Saturday Night {after a huge cup of "Sleepytime Tea"} and then woke up Sunday morning and cranked them out before I forgot how to make them. I love them all ~ 100% Cuteness, guaranteed!

We went over to Broc's new apartment Saturday afternoon. It's right smack in the middle of Downtown Baton Rouge {Spanishtown Road}. He is on a Mardi Gras parade route and there are thousands {literally} of beads hanging in all of the trees:
So now we have a place to go during Mardi Gras! I'm sure he will have a full house on Fat Tuesday. He just seems so happy and I'm so happy for him. I think he'll fit right in down there:

I'll be back tomorrow, but before I go, I just have to share these awesome little book that Broc gave me:

It is just full of "Prescriptions For Living":
On being true to yourself
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own.
And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy

Cleaning & Beads....

I'm so happy that people are loving my "Lagniappe" beads that I have to offer. It makes it so much easier for me to "let go" knowing they are going to good homes with creative spirits. I listed these little Iguanas today. I just love them:

I just wanted to pop in and say hello ~ so "hello". I've been cleaning & scrubbing cabinets all weekend with this:

It does an awesome job & it's so easy to use. So, happy Saturday {my hands are tired}. I'll check back in tomorrow, along with my little belly dancer friend ~;)

Sharing the Love......♥

So, as of yesterday I got my 1500th ♥ . The lucky winner of my "surprise" is Joanne from "PurpleLilyDesigns". She has some amazing jewelry, so please do check out her shop and ♥ her, too. She is now the proud owner of one of my little "Shrunken Ex-Boyfriend's" ~ here is a "boatload" of them and they are sharing the love, too and just as cute as can be:

1,500 ~ A lucky number?

I'm almost there! Hopefully by this time tomorrow I will be. Won't it be awesome if my total sales on Etsy reaches 1,500 and the total number of people that ♥ me is 1,500 too! I wonder if that has ever happened before. So, to celebrate, if you haven't "hearted" me yet, or if you just need to spend some moola in my shop, whomever is number 1,500 for either will be getting a great surprise from me: It's a surprise.....*wink*I made this awesome necklace today that I have to share. I named it "Cleopatra". I just love it. I have a feeling it won't last long:

Well my little peeps. I'm getting ready to blow my diet {just for today}. Wayne sent me to the store to get some beer and of course, I had to get "Heineken" because it was on sale! I hesitated at first when he asked me to go, but then he reminded me "it is a holiday" ~ not much convincing needed here. I think I was in the Winn Dixie parking lot within 10 minutes. I did decide to wait until 6 pm to pop one, and it's five minutes till.

I hope you all have a wonderful 4th! I'll drink a cold one for you.

Thank You!

Hey Everybody! Happy Sunday!!! Okay, so I spent most of yesterday making a space on My Space. It was a lot easier than I thought. I'm going to keep my blog here, though. I don't know if the My Space thing is worth it or not, but what have I got to lose {right}. Free advertising and not a whole lot of time wasted.

Anyway, I want to send out a big ole "Thank You" to everybody that has been buying up supplies from my new little shop. Things are just flying off the virtual "shelves" over there. And, I have lots, lots, lots more.....so please do keep checking. This is my little "customer appreciation" photo that I'm using in my new Etsy shop. He's also my avatar:
Well today is Broc's 27th birthday! Talk about make a gal feel old. He's moving into his new little studio apartment today and it's only a few blocks from where he works downtown. It's a great little neighborhood. Lots of young people, both artists and professionals. I know he will love it down there and fit right in. So I must go now and get some things done so I can go see him later this afternoon. I'll share another wrap bracelet I cranked out yesterday:
I'm off to do so packaging. Have a wonderful Sunday & I'll be back tomorrow.
