Bartering...who needs money anyway!

It's not that I don't have "courage" {most of the time - well, sometimes} ~ it's just that I'm afraid I may offend someone by asking if they are willing to "trade" some of my jewelry for what they have to offer. So I finally got up the "courage" to ask a lady here in town that teaches Yoga, Pilates, Nia and now Zumba if she would be willing to trade jewelry for classes! And, I'm excited to say, she was so excited {I think even more than me} that I now get to take classes for two whole months, twice a week, with no "out of pocket" expenses {kinda like "free" health insurance}!!! *Yay* ~ and I'm sure after those classes are done, I'll have something else she'll have to have and we can barter some more. I'm stoked!!! Well really, yesterday was my first class and I'm sore! I would have never imagined trading my jewelry for pain! But like the old saying "no pain, no gain" and I've "committed"! So now I'm "bartering" for comments on my blog ~ in exchange for this wonderful little "Peace" bangle:and, of course, all you have to do to win it is comment on this post! Lita will be drawing the lucky winner on Monday {March 2nd} ~ good luck!!!

Happy Wednesday ~ I'm off to fix us some "brunch" and then go on a short hike :)
♥ & peace always ~ Kathy

  1. I wish I had something to barter! I usually end up bartering my husband's services in exchange for something for me...lol.
I have a good friend who just opened a new yoga studio and it's great, so keep it up.

  2. I love your post! I asked my tax acct if she would do trade and was thrilled that she said yes!

    Your quotes are great too!

  3. Thanks ya'll!!! Hee hee - I guess I need to start thinking more "out of the box" and just come right out and ask people if they are interested in trading.

  4. I have bartered for yoga classes before. At a tough time when money was tight and time was long, the yoga studio needed me as a "desk angel" more than they needed my $20 per class. So I tried so hard to be as "angelic" as I was able. I took 6 classes+ each week and lost 35 pounds! Great job, Kathy.

  6. Oh, good for you and your yoga classes! I moderate our local freecycle group and love seeing people give things away to others who have need of them--it's a bit different than bartering because it's all given free...so the return is in karma credits rather than in goods/services. :)
