Critters, Flowers & Free Earrings!

The Squirrels are driving me "nuts"! They have managed to destroy every feeder in my yard! I did a head count yesterday and there were 17 of the pesky little fatties munching away. We really enjoy the birds, but I don't know what to do about all the squirrels! Any suggestions??? Katie??? Jen???? Any other of my little country girls??? I caught this little fellow this morning making a fast getaway down the handrail of my porch! And Melanie, I already thought about trapping them and floating them down the river on the wine bags, but I live in the forest and they'll just keep coming back :)Although, I don't mind the white ones, since they are a "novelty" around here. We have 1 that lives in our yard, but he don't really seem that interested in the feeders. He stays on the ground to munch, along with the doves & the chipmunks :)And the Jonquils are just everywhere around here! They are so beautiful!! So with that being said, I'm wrapping it up for a couple of hours and heading outside. But before I go, I have to share this week's give away:These gorgeous "Earth & Sky" earrings! All you have to do is comment on this blog post for a chance to win them! The drawing will be Monday! Good Luck & have a great day!

♥ & peace always ~ Kathy

  1. Ok first of all - I LOVE your work. Love the blog..love it all! I found you this afternoon at Etsy. You're incredibly talented.

I once raised a squirrel...her name was Bojangles. No matter how pesky the little buggers get, I just can't bring myself to run them off! :)

Oh and please enter me in the giveaway!

  2. When we were traveling in DC this winter, we saw gigantic huge fat squirrels everywhere. While we were walking the mall up to the Lincoln monument we got friendly with one of them and he ended up running up my pantleg, which totally freaked me out.

  3. Awe, thank you Tammy!!! And all you have to do to enter is comment, so you were automatically entered :) And Jana, I was bit by a squirrel once when we were camping. I was trying to give him a piece of my granola bar and he latched on to my finger! It freaked me out, too. I do love the little fellows, but I can't afford to buy bags upon bags of feed and replace feeders every other week. I just wish there was a way to keep them on the ground eating :)

  6. We really don't have many squirrels around our house, even with 14 acres of land and 30,000 acres of National Forest. I think for us, we have 5 cats and 2 outside dogs that keep the rats, mice and squirrels at bay. That's the only solution I know of...kitty cats.
We had a friend once who had a flying squirrel as a pet...Rocky and he lived for about 10 years with him.
