With all of the busyness of the Turkey Day Sale, I didn't leave my studio until yesterday afternoon. I just had to take a break. So, we took a drive up to the Parkway to watch the sunset ~ it was breath-taking:

But before we got there, we stopped off at the Fish Hatchery and walked the quiet, but exciting Nature Trail. These awesome berries were in full bloom and there were tons of little birds eagerly munching on them:

And then, the most exciting thing of all were these huge birds perched atop of this tree. They were circling all around the place. I think they are hawks, but I'm not quite sure. I'll investigate more about them today:

So I hope you are all having a wonderful Thanksgiving Week so far, and looking forward to a great Turkey Day! With that being said, don't eat too much, have lots of fun, fellowship and happiness. And remember to take the "Handmade Pledge" this Holiday Season!!! Just click on the little button below and take the pledge:

Off to fill some last minute orders and get more coffee ~ Hope you are all having a wonderful Day!!!

Xxoo & peace always ~ Kathy

  1. Happy Thanksgiving Kathy.
I think those birds are buzzards; especially if they were circling. I've never seen that many hawks together. One way to tell a hawk from a buzzard/vulture is by the tips of their wings. Vulture's tips flip up. Hawks go down. Someone told me this a long time ago.....

  3. Yep, they're turkey buzzards all right. They're everywhere. They roost in the tops of the trees for the night and swoop down out of them come morning. They are such graceful creatures when they're flying. But they do eat dead things! Even buzzards gotta eat!
