I'm turning into a sackrat!

I'm ready for Spring already! Enough with the cold and the snow. We are expecting even more snow this weekend..ugh....It's just got me in a slump. But, I have been making some great new things for the shop....and you can tell by the looks of them that I truly am ready for Spring! Like these earrings:

I named them "Morning in May", which fits them most appropriately, I think! And this awesome little necklace:

named "Pollination" ~ I love it!

Welp, I have some more ideas...gotta get busy! I hope you are having a great day! Oh, starting this Friday....and going through Sunday {January 31st}, I'm having a "My funny Valentine" weekend 20% Off Sale in both my Etsy Shop and my ArtFire Shop. All you have to do is type in "Valentine" in the comments to seller section on Etsy and the "coupon code" on ArtFire. If you use ArtFire, please type Valentine without the quotations.

Thanks everybody!! ♥ & peace always ~ Kathy

Encourage others...

Just popping in to share my awesome son's blog with everyone...and his amazing little drawings.  He says all of his happiness and artistic abilities come from me :)  I feel so special!

I love this little Owl drawing of his....it's my favorite so far.

But I love this one, too!  I hope you enjoy reading his blog...leave him a comment.

I'm heading out for the day!  It's supposed to "warm up"!  Yay!!!  Finally a day of sunshine!  Enjoy your day everybody.  And remember, encourage someone this week.  Make it a point.  I'm going to try and encourage at least one person a day...we'll see!

It's Still Winter!

I think Winter decided that it was going to "be Winter" and that was that! We still have snow on the ground from 4 weeks ago! Ozzy & Lita are going crazy being stuck inside. The top of the snow is like a solid block of ice. Hopefully, it will warm up enough today to make the top of the snow a little "crunchy", so you can at least walk on it. Ah....I have faith!!! But yesterday it did warm up to about 50 and we took Ozzy & Lita out on a hike. They had a ball!
Yes, Life is good for Ozzy & Lita :) And me, too! A friend of mine surprised me with this awesome cookbook yesterday:It's awesome! There are so many wonderful stories & recipes in it.....I can't decide which to try first! I'm leaning towards the "Rosemary Lamb Brochettes with Mint Pesto"....I'll keep you posted....It makes my mouth water, just typing it! Yummy! I haven't had Lamb Kabobs since I was in Baton Rouge! A picture share from yesterday! I love the way parts of the rivers and creeks are still frozen solid with ice, while the water underneath continues to rush past. Just seeing it and listening to it, makes you stop and think....wow....I wish we could be more like water and just freeze in time, while the world continues to zip by....how nice that would be...just for a minute, or two though, of course. I'm off to Zumba. Have a wonderful weekend!! I'll be busy make more new things for the shop all weekend long, so please stop in and check it out.

Global Warming....

...I'm really beginning to think that Polar Bears could survive in North Carolina! And, we might just need to train them and use them for transportation! This time of the year is rather depressing ~ the festive holiday decorations are all down {or need to be}, several aisles in the stores are still packed with holiday items, now marked 75 to 95% off. I try to avoid those aisles, as something always temps me ~ but not in a way that I "need" these things, I kinda feel sorry for the things that didn't sell. It's like the aisles of misfit toys. I want to bring them home and make them all feel wanted. It's as though if you listen close enough, you could hear a small sigh of relief when you carry them up to the cash register. Where do these things end up, anyway? We are taking down our tree today, but it has been a great tree and has served it's purpose well. I know it's happy :)
So much for "ringing out the old" ~ I thinking I'm ringing it in! One of my best friends from High School recently found me on facebook {that's her in the green top, sitting next to me ~ I always have my mouth wide open ~ I'm lucky nothing ever flew in there. I'm convinced I could catch a salmon like the grizzly bears ~ hee hee}. She and her husband have a second home in Asheville and she just so happened to be here! We met for the afternoon and just laughed and talked and talked until our cheeks hurt. We hadn't seen each other in over 3o years! It was wonderful! I'm looking forward to continuing our renewed friendship! And, the other person in the photo is my best friend, Debbie! We are still the best of friends ~ she and her Mom came up to visit Wayne and I just this past September. Life is Good!
Try to stay warm peeps! I think the *high* today will be 23! But before you know it, it will as "hot as blue blazes" [one of my Mom's famous statements]. Have a wonderful weekend!

New Year Resolutions...

For sure ~ this will be my #1 resolution! You can ALWAYS "Have! More! Fun!". And keeping with "tradition, I have a brand spanking new [2010] Mary Engelbreit calendar. I've been getting her little desktop calendars for about 15 years now! I just love all of the illustrations, and I love sharing them with everyone. So, let's see, what other resolutions do I have for this year!?!

#2 ~ tell the people I care about how much I love them more often.
#3 ~ take more hikes {and more pictures!}
#4 ~ live life to the fullest {which goes hand in hand with have more fun}
#5 ~ try harder to buy local & fresh food {eat more fruit & veggies}
#6 ~ make more jewelry, make more jewelry, make more jewelry
#7 ~ buy handmade things for gifts, instead of things mass marketed!
#8 ~ try not to go in Wal*Mart one single time this year {this should be easy}
#9 ~ try to say "NO" more often when people are taking advantage of me {this will be the hardest one}
#10 ~ make more $$ {which means, work harder}

That's it! Ten things are enough for one year! And now, I need to go work on #6 & #10, so I hope you are having a great year, so far! What are your resolutions? Post them in the comments, I would love to read them.
