In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.”

March to your own beat...

...it's the best way to be!  That way, you're never disappointed with the music.
I love these little harmonicas...they are awesome.  I made one a few days ago and I named it "Fine Tuned".  You can see more pics and read up on it here.
The very first daffodil to open this year!  It surprised me this morning!  And this pic is for you Dawn, since I know how you love Daffodils.  The Forsythia is blooming like crazy right now, too:
It's just so "Yellow" ~ I love it!!  And these were inspired by the Forsythia today:
You can find them here, but I'll be giving a pair away Wednesday!  Lita will be picking the winner!!  Good Luck!

It's so gorgeous outside!!  I'm headed out with my camera ~ have a wonderful afternoon!

Sudden Forsythia by Raymond A. Foss

Forsythia, yellow bush aflame
springtime bursting
into sudden bloom
Memories of my childhood home
the taste of the yellow petals
their feel on my tongue
cascade of thought, memory
a rush of my history
flooding in my mind
captured in these words,
inspired by sudden forsythia

All will be well...

...so I've had some crazy stuff going on around my right eye and the Doctors [yes, I've seen two] really have no idea what's going on.  Their latest "guess" is Shingles, but I have no rash [thank goodness!] and they have me on "Valacyclovir", which is commonly prescribed for Shingles.  All I know is it hurts like hell and I don't do "sick" very well at all.  But I do know [in my heart of hearts] that all will be well soon...real soon [fingers & toes crossed...I would cross my eyes, but it hurts to much].
I was playing around with my C.T. Scans...lol, I look a little like "Captain Jack Sparrow" in this shot...earring & all.  Of course, I can't help myself but to always try and find humor in any stressful situation.  Especially since I sometimes feel trapped in my own mind and body.  At least my teeth look nice and healthy!

It's a gorgeous day, so I'm headed out with my camera and then I'm going to make a few new things...I got in some awesome little "vintage" looking bicycle pendants...so cute!  I know you'll love them!

Happy Thursday!!

It's the little things in life...

...like tiny chicks, grass, flowers & raindrops.  I try to appreciate something "little" every day and when this arrived in my mailbox today, I was ecstatic:
It's the new "Clear Skies Eco Journal" by Susie Ghahremani of  boygirlparty.com ~ it's awesome!!  The pages are so beautiful, I don't know if I can bring myself to write on them!  And the best part is, it's only $11!  This would make a great gift for anybody.  Perfect!
Everything in my yard is starting to bud...I took these photos today, on my way to the mailbox...seems as though the same colors bloom at the same time ~ lots of yellow.
And these are just some "fun" little earrings I made today...Go, Go Godzilla!  I love em!
But the best "little" thing today was this ~ Wayne put a skylight in the stairwell ~ it's awesome!  And now I have a new place for plants ~ yay!

Hope your week has started out great!

Flowers...

I love when the flowers start to bloom and all the trees and bushes are exploding with buds...my favorite time of the year!  We took a trip to the North Carolina Arboretum a couple of days ago and everything is on the verge of explosion:
The Witch Hazel smelled soooo good...I could've stood in front of the bushes forever!
The Forsythia was blooming and the Pussy Willow was gorgeous:
Certainly witnessing such beauty gave me inspiration.  So today, I made these:
I named them "Daisy Head Mayzie" and they are awesome!  And since I've been "out of pocket" the last few days [saving details for another post], I'll be giving a pair of these away Wednesday!  Ozzy will be picking the winner!  All you have to do is comment on this post and tell me your favorite flower.  Good luck!  Of course, if you are a fan of my Facebook page, you can leave a comment there, as well.
Happy Sunday!!

P.S.  hope you enjoy my new song...it's called "When I Grow Up" by First Aid Kit ~ I love it!!

Eggs, hikes, a coupon & a winner!

Whoo hoo!!!  Your intuitions were correct, Dana!  Lita picked you to win those awesome earrings from my last post.  Although, you didn't have much competition [sorry Jen], it came down to a right hand/left hand pick, with you being my left hand and Jen being my right...the first hand Lita licked was the winner!  And I promise I washed my hands, so no lingering smells would be left, making the choice biased, one way or the other.  So yay!!!!  I hope you enjoy your little dragons, Dana!!  And thanks to all that read my ramblings and leave comments ~ ya'll are the best!!
I went down to the farm yesterday to bring food scraps to these guys and came home with this:
A huge goose egg!  Now I know folks call it a goose egg when you get a big knot on your head, but I can't imagine having a knot that even remotely resembles an actual goose egg!  This thing is huge!  And I was going to whip it up for breakfast, but I "chickened" out ~ lol.  Has anybody ever eaten a goose egg?  What do they taste like?  Maybe I'll get braver as the day goes by and we'll have it for breakfast tomorrow...or dinner tonight.
So Wayne, Broc and I went on a hike up to "Big Rock Trail" in Dupont State Forest!  It was a gorgeous day...actually the weather has been amazing!  I really do hope that Winter has come to an end!  When you are standing on the edge of Big Rock, you almost wish you had a giant balloon to float away on...well, PhotoShop can make that a reality!  I love this photo!  Had to share with ya'll!
And since you are all so awesome, I'm offering a 10% discount to all of my blog readers!  All you have to do is enter the coupon code BLOGGER2011 in both my Etsy Shop & Artfire Shop to get 10% off your total purchase!  Happy Spring!!  And now, I gotta run....I'm making something awesome with these:
Tiny harmonicas and they really play!  They are awesome!!  I'm keeping the red one for myself...I serenaded all of the dying hemlock trees in the forest...hope it helps them, or at least gives them peace...
...I'm calling the first necklace I make "Carry your own tune"...it's a little like "dancing to the beat of your own drummer", of which I can totally relate!

Happy Tuesday!!
