What In The World Did I Do??

That's what the chiropractor asked me! Not a good sign, since it was the first question after he felt my neck. I can't even think of anything I did recently. I'm wondering if that fall I took a couple of months ago has anything to do with it and it's just now affecting me. Ugh! I'm such a klutz! He said my vertebrates in my neck are compressed and he would try and help me, but I may end up having to go to a neurologist and get an "MRI" to see exactly what's going on with the discs. He popped my neck, but now my arm goes numb every time I sit down! What the heck! I don't know if that's a good sign, or not. I'm thinking good thoughts, though and everything will be fine!

So, I'm going to make this a quick post and get my stuff ready for the show tomorrow @ "Poppies" ~ if you live in Transylvania County, please come by and see me! It will be loads of fun! And these are the awesome earrings for next week's give away:
They are called "Seashore" and they are in the shop, if you want to see them close up. You know the drill ~ post a comment on THIS blog post and you'll be in the drawing, which will be held next Wednesday evening or Thursday morning. Lita will be picking, so good luck!!!

Thanks for reading my ramblings everybody! Happy Friday!!

Cherries, Snakes & Trees ~ oh my!!!

Hey everybody!!! I had an emergency website to design, so I've been wrapped up with that the last couple of days. And then, something is going on in my neck & shoulder that has my left arm numb & fingers tingling. I went and got that worked on today, so hopefully {fingers crossed} that's on the mend.

Did you know that trees don't need roots to grow? Last Spring Wayne cut down several little trees here and there that were just in the wrong spots. He cut the branches up into small enough pieces for the wood stove. So yesterday I was out looking for Henry and look what I found in the wood pile:A brand new little tree growing out of a piece of limb! Isn't it the craziest thing! It has a new place now, right out in the garden amongst the strawberry plants. And the cherry tree is loaded down! It's fun to watch the birds get up in the tree and shake the cherries loose and then little Mr. Chipmunk is waiting on the ground to grab them and run off before the birds can fly down to get them. I can only imagine how exciting it must be for the little animals that get "special treats" only now and then. I enjoy watching them eat the fruits, more than I do eating them myself. I did eat a couple of cherries today though, right off the tree! They were nice and cool because of the rain water ~:)And look who I found today!!!!!Yep, Henry! He was hanging out by the garage trying to stay dry. We've had so much rain lately! But I'm not complaining just yet, since we've needed it for so long. In fact, it's raining right now!

Well, I gotta run for now and figure out what's for dinner, but before I go, I have to congratulate Jen!!! She won the earrings from my last post!!! Be sure & check back tomorrow, when I'll be posting the next give away and it's going to be something brand new in the shop!!!
Whoo hoo ~ I promise you'll love it!!!

"American" Idol...whatever

I guess I was wrong about "American Idol" ~ I thought it was about the person with the "most" talent, not the person that "mostly" conformed to what "most" people perceive as an "American" Idol. So, as soon as I think this country is finally starting to step ahead toward equality, it takes two steps back. And not to belittle Kris Allen, he is crazy talented, too. Congratulations, Kris! But wow, what a show!!!! And speaking of "winners" ~ Lucky #2 {Jana} won the earrings from last week's post! Congratulations, Jana! And lucky for you, America didn't have to vote, or no telling who would have won :)And these awesome earrings "Horizon" are the give aways for next Wednesday! All you have to do to win them is comment on THIS blog post. Lita will be picking the lucky winner. Good Luck! And speaking of luck! Henry came back!!!!Henry is a giant rat snake that lives under my front steps. We thought he had gone away forever, since we haven't seen him in almost a year. And he came back just in the nick of time! The moles are having a field day in my gardens, so now Henry can, hopefully, take care of that problem, but he may need to invite friends. I never thought I would be "happy" about having a snake living under my steps, but when you see the damage moles can do, you welcome the snakes. Now I'm off to water plants ~ look what I found today:tiny little fuzzy peaches ~ and the tree is loaded with them :)

Happy Thrusday!!

Life is good....

...what are the chances? Here's Wayne & Paul this morning @ the "Transylvania Tailgate Market" sporting their matching "Life Is Good" orange t-shirts. What an awesome day it was today! An 80% chance of rain/thunderstorms and the sun was shining the whole time just around the market, while it was raining less than a mile away! Of course, we had our yummilicious breakfast burritos, made fresh from scratch this morning by Ms. Anne Somich of "Wild Indigo Catering":And today I got to try out my brand new banner! I love it!!!I'm also loving these awesome Paper Lanterns I bought yesterday for my studio:I was looking for something to "hide" the junked up top shelf in my closet, without buying curtains or doors and these work perfect! I love them! As you can tell, I'm easily pleased and amused. Another thing that made me smile today was another happy customer :DWhile Eden {the little girl in the picture} spent all of her money on plants {which I thought was just wonderful & amazing for a little girl her age to be so into nature} I rocked her mom's world with this awesome necklace and matching earrings that I made just yesterday:It's gorgeous! No worries though, if you had your eye on it for yourself. I have the stones to make one more. It's called "Morning Has Broken" and it's in the shop. But one of the best things about the market are these:Farm Fresh Eggs! The best things in the whole wide world! Yummy!!! I may just have to have a "breakfast dinner" tonight!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!!

I'm A Slacker!

It certainly seems so, at least! Where does the time go? The older I get the less time I have to do things I want/need to do! Like keeping up with my blog posts ~ sorry I've been such a slacker lately, but I promise to do better starting today! So this will be a rather short post, since I'm trying to get some new things made for the shop and to have with me tomorrow at the "Transylvania Tailgate Market". Tomorrow will be my first time setting up there and I hope to have a great turn out. If you live in Transylvania County, please come out to see me. But if you don't get by tomorrow, I'm planning on setting up there on the 3rd Saturday of each month. These awesome "Rock Candy" earrings are the give away for next Wednesday {May 20th}, which is also the day of the American Idol Finale' ~ whoo hoo ~ go Adam! Of course, Kris is awesome too, so this time America actually got it right! All you have to do to win the earrings is comment on this blog post! Ozzy will pick the winner Wednesday. Good Luck!
This is from our hike this week up to "Big Rock" ~ it was awesome! We are going to try and go on a hike at least twice a week, since the weather is just gorgeous right now and before it gets to hot. Wayne is turning into quite the guide lately :)

Have a wonderful Friday!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! This is the poem I wrote for my Mom {you can click on it to view it larger & clearer} to go along with this:A gorgeous "Mother/Child" leaf necklace from Elizabeth Scott ~ my Mom loved it!

We've had house guests all weekend and they just left this morning and then tonight we are having "music Monday" here {of which I can't wait!}, so this will be a short post ~ I just wanted to wish everybody Happy Mother's Day and a happy Monday. But before I go, I have to share this:the "Mountain Laurels" are beginning to bloom ~ soon my whole back yard & the forest will be a sea of pink. I love the Spring!

Just Another Muddy Monday...

....I feel like I live in the Rain Forest! But, I have to admit that it's just absolutely gorgeous around here right now. I've never seen so many different shades of green in my entire life! We have had lots of {much needed} rain the last few days and everything is just so happy!!! The forest has literally come to life. We went on a five mile hike yesterday, up to "Twin Falls" and then along "Avery Creek". The water in the falls & the creek was thundering down so loud ~ it was awesome. And the wildflowers are in abundance in the forest ~ like these:and theseand theseand my favorite of all ~ the Pink Lady Slippers...but the best part about this hike is that we shared it with friends:Here's Sandi & Karen standing next to what must be the largest & oldest "Mountain Laurel" we had ever seen ~ it was awesome!

I hope you are enjoying your Springtime, wherever you are. Don't forget to comment on my last blog post for a change to win these awesome earrings:the drawing is tomorrow ~ good luck!

Happy Tuesday!!! ♥

Happy Birthday To Me!!!

Yippie ~ tomorrow is my Birthday!!!! I always get so excited the day before. Not that we make a big deal out of birthdays or anything, I just like to get the cards, phone calls & general "happy birthday" wishes. Wayne's birthday is May 27th, so we decided to get a "Wii" for our combined birthdays this year. I can usually expect an extra little "something" from Ozzy & Lita, though :) My sister sent me a new purse and my best friend, Sharon sent me a purse, too! Gosh, I guess they thought I needed one and I sure do love having new ones {it's one of those things you can never have to many of, like shoes & jewelry, too} And then tomorrow morning we'll be headed down to the Farmer's Market because my awesome friend, Anne, is making me a special "birthday breakfast burrito" ~ yummy! And speaking of the Farmer's Market, I'll be setting up there on the 3rd Saturday of every month, starting May 16th! So, if you live close, please stop by and see me.I just had to share this awesome necklace I made yesterday for the shop. I named it "Gray Matter" ~ the Pink Peruvian Opal Briolette is just gorgeous! And these are gorgeous, too:In fact, they are the give away for next Wednesday!!! I know you'll love them! And, all you have to do to win is comment on this post. Ozzy will be drawing the winner, so good luck!!!

You know, there are just so many cute things on Etsy that I'm going to start sharing them here, in case you missed them. So my favorite "cute" thing today is this:An awesome "little dress" pouch from "suezybees" ~ isn't it the cutest thing ever! I might just have to get it, as a "birthday" present to myself. Plus, it will be really cute in one of my new purses :)

Well, I'm off to go look through the fridge/pantry and decide what to fix for dinner. Then, I've got to make a couple of birthday gifts {for you know who & who ~ surprises}

Happy Friday!!!! ♥ & peace ~ Kathy
