Missing my daddy today...

...it seems as though the older I get, the closer I get in age to my parents. They always seemed "so old", but now, not so much. Today would have been my dad's 75th birthday. It's hard to believe that he's been gone from this earth for almost 10 years now. There's not a single day that goes by that I don't think about him at least once. I miss those silly little jokes he was always calling to tell me, those hugs and belly laughs I would get from him when I told a silly joke, or just needed a hug. He was always my #1 fan and would tell me time and time again how proud he was of me. I miss that so much and I know he would have been awfully proud of me and the accomplishments I've made since he's been gone ~ but I can feel him watching over me and somehow I know he knows and he's proud.

So I'm dedicating today to him...I think I'll go out and take some pictures, since I somehow know. through my eyes, he can see what I do.

Rain, Love & Memories.....

I'm tired of the rain, but I hate to complain, since so many people are having problems with fires right now. I'll take the rain any day. It may as well be raining anyway ~ another whole weekend of painting, scrubbing, cleaning, wiping & throwing away. But, I can see my "ship" now and that makes it all worth it.

Broc came over do do laundry and type up his resume'. He is tired of waiting tables and thinks he wants a regular "9 to 5" with nights & weekends off. I'm sure he can find something. He's a pretty bright kid. I gave him my Daddy's pinkie ring. Actually, my Daddy had wanted him to have it when he passed away 7 years ago and Broc did not want to take it then. He wanted me to hold on to it until he thought he was responsible enough to have it and not lose it. I almost starting crying when he put it on. It fits him perfectly ~ almost like it was made for him. I realized then how much his hands were just like my Daddy's:
He swore never to take it off, just like my Daddy had worn it for 40 years. Yes, 40 years! My Mother gave it to him for their very first wedding anniversary. It's actually made of pewter and had a star sapphire in the center. Unfortunately, after constant wear and tear, Daddy somehow cracked the star sapphire and replaced it with a plain sapphire. He also had to have it welded together 4 times, since he always wore it thin. I decided that if Broc takes care of it {like I know he will} that I will take it and get a star sapphire put in it for his 30th birthday {which is only 3 year away ~ Gosh I feel old saying that}

Well my little peeps ~ I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday & looking forward to a great week ahead. I know I am. I did make a few new things for the shop, so please do check them out when you get a chance. I'll be posting pictures of my newly finished bathroom tomorrow, so let me know what you think about it.

And, if you haven't done it yet, Please make me "your friend" on MySpace. I'm off to fix dinner and get ready to watch that silly, silly show "John from Cincinnati" {it really is silly, but I like it}. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Have a wonderful evening ~ ♥ and peace ~ Kathy
