Worms and bears and stuff like that...plus a discount coupon!

These adorable little caterpillars are all over the place right now!  They are so cute...and curious, but I'm pretty sure they will sting the crap out of you!  And then there's the bear...

...he started showing up at our bird feeders about a month ago.  We haven't seen him in a couple of weeks...maybe he/she is out looking for a mate to hunker down with this winter!  Here he is with a mouth full of suet!  And then there's the deer...

...we have several families of deer that live in our forest...this is one of the babies.  They are so precious!  I love seeing them in the mornings and late afternoons. And why do I love animals so much?

Because they bring us joy.
Because they are at our mercy.
Because they teach us kindness. And compassion. And understanding.
Because they are voiceless.
Because they wish us no harm.
Because they are our companions. And because we are all animals. I will never stop being a voice, for them.

Friends...

We had a really great evening last night over @ some of our friends' house. They are movie producers/directors and have written & directed several films. But the one we watched last night is called "At Last" and it's a movie about them & their lives and how they got back together after 30 years. It was really sweet & heartwarming. At first I really just wanted to stay home last night and make some new things for the shop and get ready for this weekend's show. But after it was all said & done, I'm really glad we went. And the dinner Tom & Sandi made was awesome! So if you having been putting off friends lately, you need to go visit!And this is my new favorite necklace! I love it!!! Of course, I'm keeping the originial one for myself and I have 3 more of the bead-caps and Sandi already put in her order for one, so I'll only have 2 for sale in the shop. So, if you are eying it, you better snatch it up. It's just gorgeous, like having your own little garden, so I named it "My Secret Garden" ~ very appropriate, I think.And then there are these, that I named "Organically Grown" - the Pink Peruvian Opal is just gorgeous! So I sit back and look at the new things I've made and think "gosh, my style is taking on a victorian flare and I must remy this right away"And out comes "Wish You Were Here" ~ these awesome little earrings that are totally inspired by "Pink Floyd" ~ So now I'm back!!! But while I was out on the front porch taking pictures, I got the feeling I was being watched......

low & behold, this little fellow was standing right on the edge of the woods watching me take pictures of my jewelry....he stood there for the longest time. I think it's cuz he wanted his picture taken :)

Simple Things....

...our little cherry tree was just bursting with cherries and we couldn't wait for them to get ripe enough to pick. The branches were so heavy with cherries that the tree was literally almost doubled over:and then....over night, they were gone in a flash! All because of this little gal:

...and the fact that it was broad daylight and we were all {Ozzy & Lita, too} watching her out of the window, didn't even seem to bother her in the least. She just munched away on the last dangling cherries and then trotted off into the forest, after turning and posing long enough for me to take her picture. So now I'm down to a couple of strawberries, 2 peach trees, 8 blueberry trees {that I'm sure will be "picked over" soon enough} and an herb garden that is totally out of control. So we just threw in the towel and went on a hike. Like I've said before, it's the little things that count the most anyway. And at least our fruit trees are benefiting somebody, if not us...I'm not that crazy about cherries anyway :O)We hiked up to "Wintergreen Falls" in Dupont Forest and it was absolutely gorgeous and just what I needed to "de-stress", after almost two weeks of waiting for my computer to be fixed.
