Has everyone enjoyed the first full Moon of 2022!! It seems like it's lasted for days here! With our first substantial "sneaux" of Winter, the reflection from the Moon beams has made it seem like an eternal daylight. I'll take it, though! It has been keeping me awake...not because I can't go to sleep, but because I can't stop looking at it. This photo was taken from my pillow, with my phone! The Moon had two rainbows around it and it was gorgeous! Wayne said that means there is ice in the clouds when that happens. So gorgeous!

And since it was another super bright Moon last night, I stayed up late, drawing on my iPad! So much fun! I hope you are all having a great week!!!

Hiding in plain sight!

A lucky find for me today on my walk in the forest...a gorgeous "Catocala" aka "Underwing" Moth.  This one was using its camouflage, since he wasn't too sure about my camera lens [it does tend to look like a giant mouth to little critters, I'm sure].  But, you can still see a tiny speck of its beautiful colors underneath!
Amazing!!  Life is good!  Oh, and how many of you got to see that gorgeous "Strawberry Moon" last night?  It was beautiful!  We drove up to "Pretty Place" at "Camp Greenville" to watch it come up:
And it was certainly worth the trip!
Last full moon on the Summer Solstice until 2062!

Happy Summer, ya'll!

Farmer's Market Finds & Local Goodness...

What an awesome day at the Transylvania County Tailgate Market!  I love peddling my wares out there.  The people are all so awesome and always showing me the love!  And now all of the fresh veggies are coming in and everything taste soooooo good!  Yesterday I got more sweet corn on the cob and the most gorgeous green peppers I've ever seen in my life!  And the heirloom tomatoes are awesome!  Wayne cut one up in thick slices and cooked it on the grill and then topped it off with some local goat cheese...delish!!!
Last night we went into town to hear a new local all girls band.  They call themselves "The Sundogs" and they are awesome!
Here's a short clip...

And when we were walking around town, we spotted this huge caterpillar in a potted plant right along Main Street!
Come to find out, he's a Cecropia Silkmoth.  Isn't he awesome!  He's huge!!  And then we were greeted by this on the way home:
Lots of Luna!  Happy Sunday everybody!!

Who cooks for you...

...had to share!  Wayne and I saw this awesome Owl yesterday afternoon!  He flew from the side of the road and up into the tree.  Wayne stopped the car and I jumped out with my camera.  Of course, he flew into another tree when he saw me and then Wayne starting "hooting" and the Owl turned around long enough for me to get this awesome shot!  People say the Owl "hoots" sound like they are saying "who cooks for you".
After spotting the Owl, we continued on to "Pretty Place", which is located in "Camp Greenville", just a short drive from our house.  We drove down there to watch the moon come up.  It was gorgeous!  And I lucked out and got this great shot of Wayne, standing by the cross, with the moon shining bright:
It was a great evening...topped off with some Mexican Food from a restaurant in town:
ah...Happy Saturday Night!

Imagination is more important than knowledge...

Happy Monday!! I can't believe next Monday will be November 1st!! NOVEMBER, already! As of today, it's 1 month until Thanksgiving and 2 months until Christmas!! Seems like it was just the first day of Summer a month ago! I know I'm always talking about how fast time flies by, but it's really amazing to me how fast it really does! Anyway, just makes me want to stay busy being creative & making new things, taking more pictures, enjoying more things and loving the beauty of mother nature, family, friends & children:these two little girls belong to a couple of my wonderful friends. Although it was one of their Mom's birthdays, they blew out the candles. And it's just as well...seems like the more birthdays you have, the more help you need blowing out the candles anyway, right! So last night @ the birthday party some of the girls called me into the kitchen to take a picture. When I got in there, they were all standing together and pointed out that every one of them were wearing something I made...either a necklace, or a pair of earrings. It was so sweet...made me a little verklempt. I'm so lucky have to these amazing women as friends. I love them all!
And I love all of ya'll, too! I'm amazed out how many leaves fell off the trees in my yard over night! My car is covered! So to celebrate my wonderful friends and the ending of October, I'm giving away one of these beautiful Maple Leaf Necklaces. All you have to do to win is comment on this post, or the link on facebook. Ozzy will be picking a winner Monday morning, November 1st! Good luck!!hee hee ~ so this is one of my lastest "TtV" photographs. I just love this huge pink "Care Bear" I found at the thrift store for $1. And, as luck would have it, he talks and loves to climb trees! I sure am a lucky girl! This is what awaited me at the end of my road early Saturday morning when I headed down to the "Transylvania County Tailgate Market". The full Moon was still high in the sky and the rising sun was casting a warm pink glow on the mountain tops...it was breathtaking!

It's a little rainy & overcast today...the perfect kind of day to be creative! Don't forget to leave a comment and good luck on the drawing!!
