I feel like the luckiest Girl in the whole world!

I guess I have way more than my share of friends, then! I love this little picture. It was from my calendar yesterday and it just so happens to remind me very much of me {with the pink bow}, my bestest friend in the whole world, Sharon {with the short hair} and my very oldest & dearest friend Chris {with the blonde hair}. Plus it looks like something we would be doing ~ sitting around having drinks {not tea, mind you} and yacking, yacking, yacking about any and everything until we were exhausted. I love all of my friends and I'm so happy when I get to talk to and see them. And I know they read my blog, so hello!!! My calendar is starting to fill up with visitors for the upcoming months! Now it looks like my little
"whirling Charlie"
will be coming up in September! I can't wait to see her.

So today was a totally yuckie, raining, blah kind of day, but it was a wonderful one for me! First of all, my sweet little Shyla called me to say hello. I sure do miss her smiling little face. But she just started her career as an Anesthesiologist, so she won't be coming to visit us until next year. That's okay, though – I'll probably get to see her when we go back to Baton Rouge this fall. And then the next wonderful thing that happened was this:

It's an original painting of Emily Martin's {The Black Apple}. And I just had to have it. She showed it on her blog a few days ago and I fell in love with it. She has so many customers that she only updates her shop on Etsy about once a month with original things. Her shop update was today @ 2:00 and I was waiting, with my finger on the mouse, ready to pounce when this was listed. I just knew that I would probably never be fast enough to actually get it since there are literally hundreds of people that wait to buy her stuff. When I saw it show up, I clicked on it and hurried up and added it to my cart and checked out in lightening speed of time. I really didn't think it was true until the transaction came through my e-mail and it was! So Yay!!!!! I can't wait to hang it up on my wall. I have several other prints of hers and one other original drawing. So I guess in another 100 years from now someone down my family tree will drag my collection to the "Antique Road Show" and sell it all for $1,000,000,000 touche'

Even though it was a seemingly yuckie day, all of the trees & flowers around here are budding out all over the place. It looks like Spring is ready to explode right in my back yard! And I can't wait. I felt as though I needed a little dose of Spring in my studio, so I made this awesome little necklace for the shop:

I named it "Enchanted Garden", which fits it perfectly.

So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that
Jason
don't get voted off tonight. Hope you are having a wonderful week!

Xxoo & peace always ~ Kathy

  1. Ooooo I love your "Enchanted Garden". That one is particularly awesome!!!! Love the 'Friends' too - I need to post a new blog with Pictures from a performance we did a couple of Fridays ago...you would totally appreciate the *complete* silliness taking place with grown..um 'adults'? Can we say we're that? I don't wanna Kathy.....I'm putting you in charge of coming up with something to call us all besides 'Adult'! :)I know you're up for the challenge!

  2. Hee hee ~ it's like the saying goes "once a man, twice a child". I'll come up with a new "word" for what we are and it certainly won't have anything remotely to do with "adult"
