hmmm ~ I'm starting to wonder just how many "lives" one can have in a lifetime? I still can't decide "exactly" what I want to be! I guess "Artist" is just a broad spectrum for a creative person ~ right!?! As of lately, I've jumped in with both feet to my photography. Wayne didn't help, by buying me a new camera {which I love, by the way}, but now I have so much to learn! I've always been a "point & shoot" type of girl anyway, but now I have to read & learn stuff! Blah ~ I just want to wake up and know it! You know what I mean! So I'm currently reading Bryan Peterson's book "Understanding Shutter Speed" ~ I'm only on page 16 and none of it, NONE OF IT, has sunk into my brain. I'm hoping to head out for the afternoon tomorrow with my friend, Van ~ he knows all about that stuff ~ so maybe he can teach me some things. Wish me luck!We had a wonderful visit with Broc!!! He absolutely loved it here!! I wish he would move up here, and he just may! I'll keep my fingers crossed. He's such a great kid! I'm one lucky mom, for sure!
I've started working on my "holiday campaigning" and I need your advice! As a shopper, would you rather get a discount, free shipping, or a free gift? One of my friends suggested a "free gift" for the buyer than dropped shipped 3 items or more. What do you think??? Just post your comments to this blog post. And, by doing that, you'll automatically be entered in a drawing for these gorgeous earrings ~ perfectly named "The Giving Tree" ~ the poll will close Monday and Lita will be picking the winner! Good luck and "thanks" in advance for your comments.
Welp peeps ~ I need to get some work done, but I'll be posting regularly to my blog, so please check back often. I'm getting ready to hunker down for the holidays and make a bunch of new stuff, including some photography blocks, so look for those soon!! I'm learning!!!
Have a terrific Tuesday!! ♥ & peace always ~ Kathy

I was totally eyeballing the giving trees :) among so many other things in your store last week. So far as lives go... well, I think you've seen me go through at least two for sure. I'm pretty sure I'm entering my personal sixth or seventh. At 36 that averages out to 1 new life every 6 years... just about. Yeah - I've been totally loving my new blog-friend Leah's website creativeeveryday.com - she's got an "Art Everday Month" challenge going on for november... and I totally love her broad scope of 'Art' - cooking, picture taking, creating however you can however you will... I'm totally loving the idea. :) So, I'm broadening my scope of who I am as an "Artist" as well. Kind of nice, liberating.
ReplyDeleteBig love woman, I'm enjoying spreading your talents to the far corners :)
I don't like to read books about photography, I just like to take pictures. :) I call my photos "intimate" because I'm trying to capture the beauty of a moment rather than attempting to execute a perfect picture. And often it's the 'mistakes' that I tend to love the best (a bit of blur, an odd focus, the insect that was hiding unseen on the flower, etc).
ReplyDeleteAnd, I think these earrings are gorgeous! Very hippie groovy cool!
I'm feeling that with thoughts of going back to school and getting some sort of something under my belt so I can earn a living too.
ReplyDeleteWhat do I want to be when I grow up...?
Long, dry books are arduous! I'm a tactile learner, I can pick it up if I see it and do it, but reading like that just bores me to tears.
As for the holidays, I always like free gifts, but I don't think you can go wrong no matter which you choose.
Everyone...carpe diem!
ya'll are awesome!!! It's probably because of both of you that I have so many lives to begin with! Charlie & Jana, you are truly inspirations to anyone!
ReplyDeletethanks Jen!!! I posted before you posted, but then it showed up after you posted? Must have hit the enter key simultaneously. And you truly are a gift to me, too!! You're like my Siamese twin, but detached ;)
ReplyDeleteI was loving these earlier when I saw them through a Charlie post. Personally, I'm a sucker for free shipping or other shipping offers.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy - cool a chance to win your jewelry. You know I'm a big fan!
ReplyDeletePersonally I would rather have either a discount or free shipping as a shopper.
Have fun with the photography. Nice to finally see a picture of you (and the family.

Hi, Kathy, I'd go for a discount. Often, purchasing 3 items at a time is not an option. These earrings are just beautiful. Wonderful creation! Hugs, Carol Greene
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll have a discount and then offer "free shipping" if it's over a certain amount?!? How bout that! And thanks for the sweet comments, everybody!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat WAYNE, he had to go and buy you a camera! What a sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteClearly, I like the discount best but get tons of complements on my beautiful won pieces. Thank you.
I like the idea of a free gift to the buyer if buying more than 3 - it's unique!!
