Soon after I joined Etsy...way back in 2005 [wow! has it really been that long], I started following Katie Daisy, because of her wonderful art and inspirations. Over the years, I have collected various things she has offered...cards, journals, calendars, books, etc. I just adore her work! I actually think her work gives me inspiration for mine...especially some of my drawings:
And then, about a year or so ago, I was really feeling stressed and out of control over several things that were happening in my life and decided getting a massage might help...at least to relax me for a bit. My wonderful massage therapist, Star, was not only a friend, she always had been someone I could talk to. I told her about some things I was stressing over and she suggested I read Tosha Silver's book "Outrageous Openness". As many of you know, I'm NOT a religious person at all! Spiritual, yes...religious, like putting on a dress with some pantyhose and carrying a patent leather purse, headed to church every Sunday, NO. So I was a bit skeptical about the book in the beginning, but once I started reading it and applying the principals of it...well, it changed my whole being, my whole beliefs, my whole way of dealing with daily stuff! I have a little alter set up now and a "God box". And it's amazing how many times I have "released" whatever it was I could not control into the universe and, it's fixed itself! That's the whole thing in a nutshell...things we can't control, or can't "fix" can only be fixed when we let it go.
So lately, I've had "writers block" trying to decide what to post about on my blog...it used to just pour out of me and I would be done, in like, 10 minutes! But lately, I haven't seemed to be able to come up with anything worth writing about...until I got these awesome Oracle Cards! Not only are they inspiration from Tosha, they are illustrated by Katie Daisy! I LOVE them!!! Every day, when I'm up with my coffee, I pull one for myself. I decided to use them for writing block prompts when I can't seem to figure out what to write about. "True Offering" is the card I pulled today, so I hope this post resonates with you and that you, too, can find a way to bring calmness and less stress into your daily lives.
love and peace always ~ Kathy
