Is anything really "perfect"? I was just going along, making this necklace and was planning on it being a double strand. But, unfortunately, I misjudged the length of my cord and ended up having to cut it right at the end. I was going to just cut it all up and start over, but then I decided that I would just sell it as an "imperfect" necklace, even though whomever buys it will just love it and think it is "perfect" to them. I'm a little like this myself. I sometimes dig in barrels and boxes of beads, looking for some that are just not quite right, or some that have a slight imperfection. Those are the ones I take home and make things with for myself. Like one of my favorite little bracelets that has a 3 legged turtle on it ~ stuff like that. It's like the "Island Of Misfit Toys" in Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer. I loved all of those little toys and wished that Santa would bring them all to me . I even loved the little doll, but only because she was a little crippled and I knew if she came to life she couldn't out run me (I know, I'm sick, but that's the way my mind works).
When I listed this necklace today, I used one of my Mark Ryden photos for the background, just because it made "perfect" sense to do so. And then I was reminded of a beautiful saying I had heard @ a friend's wedding: "You learn to love, not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.”
And so, my little peeps, I leave you with another "perfect" necklace that I made today and hopes that you all have a wonderful weekend. xx00 & peace ~ Kathy
And another little poem from my book:
The Little Turtle
There was a little turtle, he lived in a box.
He swam in a puddle, he climbed on the rocks.
He snapped at a mosquito, he snapped at a flea.
He snapped at a minnow and he snapped at me.
He caught the mosquito, he caught the flea.
He caught the minnow, but he didn't catch me.
