Beauty….

…so I was thinking today about things that made me smile recently, and how I marvel at the beauty of just plain ole nature. And since it's Memorial Day, I decided to share some of those beautiful things with you.

Wild Blueberries ~ these are blooming wild all over the forest. The whole forest is just full of luscious smelly good things right now, like these:

Wild Azaleas and these:

Mountain Laurel – blooming all over the place! And these:

Wild "Lily of the valley" bush plus too many others to even mention. But the most amazing thing that I've seen lately is this awesome animated video. One of my sweet little MySpace friends sent it to me for "inspiration" and boy did it work! I have so many things in my head right now that I'm having to sketch them out. So be looking for some awesome new things this week in the shop.

I hope you are having a great holiday weekend! And congratulations to "Bunny B" ~ she won the awesome earrings from last Thursday's post!

Xxoo & peace always ~ Kathy

Today's "Women's Lip" quote is about make-up:

"Make-up is such a weird concept, but I buy into it like every woman I know. I'll wake up in the morning and look in the mirror: "Gee, I really don't look so good. Maybe if my eyelids were blue, I'd be more attractive…." – Cathy Ladman

  1. Love the photos Kathy. We don't have wild blueberries, but lots of blackberries.
And I love Lily of the Valley, but we don't have those here.
I never could open the video...
Hey, I never went through a blue eye shadow phase, but, gasp, did have a pink, sparkly phase!! lol.
    So not me.

  2. Yeahhhhh- one of the things I 'regret' about having a job where I'm obligated to a company (person or other entity) is that I don't get to just ...wander through my morning taking pictures of the wildlife in my life. Mmmmm....but yesterday we took the bike out for just a little while and even then I was struck by all of the *smells* of spring. I really wish I had time to follow my nose some days and figure out which smells belong to which trees and flowers...I'm currently waiting for the mulberrys in our yard to ripen :)

  3. That's what I did yesterday! I was out for my walk, smelling all the sweet smells of Spring; honeysuckle, my catalpa tree in bloom, the roses, the clover...it's my favorite time of year.
    Follow your nose!

  4. Ya'll are awesome! And Jen, I did the whole blue eyeshadow thing and I even wore blue mascara! It was atrocious - and paired with my big hair, I was quite the catch :) And Charlie, seems as though the raccoons have discovered my strawberries & hummingbird feeders, so life in the forest is "just that" ;)
